Dury, Andrew & Rocque, John:- 1764 A Collection of Plans of the Principal Cities of Great Britain and Ireland: with Maps of the Coast of the said Kingdoms; Drawn from the most Accurate Surveys; in particular, those taken by the lake Mr. J. Rocuqe, Topographer to His Majesty. London, Printed & Sold by A. Dury in Dukes Court, St. Martin's Lane, Where may be had his small Universal Pocket Atlas, to which this is designed to be as a Second Volume. Full contemporary speckled calf binding, red speckled edges, gilt tooled spine complete with orig. spine label lettered Plans, no prior ownership inscriptions, ownership bookplate of John Borthwick of Crookston to verso of dedication page. Illustrated with twenty-two hand coloured engraved plates of maps including the Isle of Wight plate, and eighteen plans, including three folding examples; minor offsetting & the odd spot, otherwise very bright and clean. An exceptionally scarce 18th century collection of maps of Great Britain and Ireland, including plan of London post Great Fire of 1666 and at present day (1764), in excellent original condition. Small oblong 8vo.
