Our ceramics, glass and collectables expertise covers a wide range of periods, styles and movements. With experts in antique and modern glass, ceramics and 20th Century studio glass at our disposal, you can rest assured of getting the best possible prices under the gavel. Bristol & Bath have a rich history in ceramics, with the world famous Bristol Pottery factories of the eighteenth and nineteeth centuries based on our doorstep. Bristol’s famous blue glass is also world-renowned and is still made to this day. Antique ceramics and glassware is always popular, as well as more modern collectables by Royal Doulton, Royal Worcester and Lladro.

This sale to include the Borthwick collection of early 20th century Scottish watercolour paintings. Alfred Edward Borthwick RSA (1871-1955) was a prolific Edinburgh based painter, with many of his works housed in collections and institutions across Scotland, including in the Royal Scottish Academy. Included within the collection, which has come to auction by descent for the first time, are numerous works by David Muirhead Thomson (1867-1930), a friend to Borthwick. They often painted en plein air together, with their easels and stools included in the sale.
