STAR WARS - ANTHONY DANIELS ORIGINAL LETTER & PHOTOGRAPH
Star Wars - Anthony Daniels (C3PO) - an original letter c1983 from Daniels to our vendor, describing his costume and filming process. Black ink on official pre-production 'Revenge Of The Jedi' headed stationery. Daniels writes, in part; 'It took 3 years to make ROTJ including 18 weeks in the studio. My costume is made of metal, rubber, plastic and fibre-glass. When I speak it's sent through a tiny radio transmitter. Later I watch the nearly finished film and do the voice again - without the mask on.' Along with a signed photograph of Daniels in gold ink. Both sent to our vendor by Daniels in response to his fan letter. Letter 21cm x 14cm.
Revenge Of The Jedi was the original working title for the first draft of the third installment. LucasFilm had all their stationery printed with this title prior to production starting. The 'new' title Return Of The Jedi didn't appear until the shooting script was produced in 1981. A few items of pre-production stationery had already been given to leading cast and crew, by which time it was too late to recall.
